Win a tonne of Norwegian cod

Win a tonne of Norwegian cod

The Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) is offering one lucky frier the chance to win a tonne of sustainable Norwegian cod.

This fantastic fishy prize is the largest of its kind ever seen in the UK and is part of a campaign by Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) aimed at increasing the demand for cod and haddock fished from Norwegian waters.

In conjunction with the competition, NSEC has launched a free POS kit which helps customers understand that they are making a positive and sustainable choice by asking for cod and haddock from the cold, clear waters of Norway.

Fish and chip fans can also get in on the action by entering a free prize draw to win a family holiday to Norway.

To be in with a chance of winning a tonne of sustainable Norwegian cod, friers simply need to follow the five steps below:

1.   Register for the free POS kit at www.seafoodfromnorway.co.uk

2.   Display the POS kits within your shop

3.   Send in a photo to the NSEC of your display

4.   Serve Norwegian fish

5.   Encourage your customers to enter the competition

Registration for the free POS kit and entry into the prize draw closes on 30th November 2011. More details will be issued with the kits which will be distributed in early 2012.

NSEC director Johan Kvalheim explains: “Fish and chip shops are a hugely important sector for Norwegian fishermen and we are really keen to help British friers understand the benefits of choosing Norwegian. Our fresh frozen fillets are of not only of an outstanding quality but are also 100% sustainable – a fact we know is extremely important to UK consumers.”
